Please include the required material condition, heat treatment, hardness, or surface treatment where applicable. If you need material documentation, identify that requirement when requesting a quote.
For plated or otherwise treated shafts, clarify whether the drawing dimensions apply before or after treatment. Also identify any surfaces that must remain untreated.
Material substitutions and changes to drawing requirements should be agreed before production.

Achievable tolerances depend on the material, geometry, feature size, processing sequence, and inspection requirements. Send your specified tolerances for review so that the quotation reflects the actual work required.
If a requirement needs clarification or a different manufacturing approach, it should be addressed before production. Any proposed drawing change remains subject to your approval.
Prototypes, Small Batches, and Repeat Orders
We support enquiries from prototype development through production. Please provide the quantity needed for the current order and any expected repeat-order quantities.
For a trial order, tell us whether the parts will be used for assembly checks, testing, or first-article approval. Include any documentation needed for that approval.
For repeat orders, identify the approved drawing revision and any changes since the previous batch. Where demand is uncertain, you can request separate quotations for several realistic quantity levels.
Minimum order requirements and lead time are confirmed after reviewing the part and project scope.
Inspection and Documentation
Inspection requirements should be part of the quotation discussion, particularly for critical mating features.

Confidential Drawings and Project Information
Your shaft design may contain information that should not be shared beyond the people involved in evaluating and manufacturing the part.
If an NDA is required, contact us before sending confidential files so that the agreement and file-sharing arrangements can be discussed.
You do not need to provide customer names, programme names, or unrelated assembly details in an initial enquiry. However, the technical information necessary for an accurate quotation and production approval must be available before those stages proceed.

A 3D model can support an initial review. A firm quotation may also require a drawing or written specifications covering material, tolerances, threads, finishing, and inspection requirements that are not defined in the model.
Can you quote a shaft with threads, grooves, and milled features?
Send the complete drawing with those features included. We review the required operations together and confirm the proposed scope before quoting. Feasibility depends on the specific geometry and requirements.
What shaft sizes and tolerances can you accommodate?
Please send the drawing or specify the maximum diameter, overall length, material, and critical tolerances. Capability is confirmed for the particular part; we do not assume that one size or tolerance range applies to every design.
